Open CSV Files in Excel

Your sales statement is provided as a CSV file. If you open it directly in Excel, the columns or numbers may not always be displayed correctly. This usually happens because Excel does not automatically recognize the correct separator settings.

Follow these steps to open and format your CSV file correctly in Excel:

1. Open your CSV sales statement in Excel.

2. Select a column.

3. Go to Data and select Text to Columns.

Convert Text to Columns

4. Choose Delimited (Characters such as commas or tabs separate each field) and click Next.

5. Select Comma as the delimiter and click Next.

6. Click Advanced and enter the following settings:

  • Decimal separator: .
  • Thousands separator: ,

7. Confirm the settings and click Finish.

Please note that Excel settings may vary depending on your language, region and version of Excel. If the file still does not display correctly, check whether your Excel uses different regional settings for decimal and thousands separators.
