Create a new release - Step 3: split!

This tool allows you to define how the revenue of a release is divided between the label, artists and other contributors. It helps you keep track of who receives which percentage.

Using split! is optional, so you can skip this step if you prefer. However, if you enter the revenue shares here, they will automatically be transferred to our statement tool kontrol! later. This means you don't need to enter the shares again when creating artist statements.

To use the tool, activate the toggle “Activate Split”.

You can edit the split settings at any time under “Products”, even after the release has been created.

You can choose between two options:

Fixed

The label receives a fixed percentage for all tracks in the release.

Example: If you set the label share to 30%, the label will receive 30% of the revenue for every track.

Variable

You manually define the percentage distribution for each party involved.

For example, you can split the revenue equally between label, main artist, remixer and contributors.

Important:

All shares must add up to 100%.

Due to rounding, small adjustments may occur if percentages cannot be divided evenly.

You can freely customize all percentages according to your agreement.

Of course you can set all the percentages yourself and customize them to your own needs.
