Create a new release - Step 3: split!

In the third step, you can use the split! tool, which allows labels to add artist and contributor shares while uploading a new product.

This is an optional feature, so you can skip this step.

We really recommend using the split! Tool, as it will save you a lot of time afterwards. Once you have added the artist and contributor shares in split!, you won’t have to remember them later when you create your artist statements in our statement tool kontrol! as they will be retrieved automatically.

Activate the toggle to define label, artist, or composer shares.

Choose between "Fixed" and "Variable".

You can change the split! at any time under "Products". 

Customize your previous releases with the split! Tool to adjust them.

You can set the label share settings to "Fixed" and specify that the label for example will receive 30%, which will affect all tracks in the release.

You can also set the Label Share settings to " Variable" and specify the share percentages yourself. For example, you can determine that the share is divided equally and that the label, main performer, remixer and contributor all receive the same share.

Please keep in mind that some amounts aren't even and are rounded up for that reason.

Of course you can set all the percentages yourself and customize them to your own needs.
