Create a new release - Step 4: Product info

4) Format product

Specify the metadata of your releases and select the format.

Products with 1 to 3 tracks are called Single while EPs contain 4 to 6 tracks and Albums more than 6 tracks.

No worries though: you don’t have to count! We’ve already entered the correct product format for you.

The only thing you have to pay attention to is whether your release is an album or a compilation.

Single1-3 Tracks (playing time is less than 10 minutes per track)

EP→4-6 Tracks (with a total running time of 30 minutes or less)

Album→from 7 tracks, which are from the same artist (It is an album if at least one main artist appears on each track of your release)

Compilation→from 7 Tracks, which are from different artists (One of the main artists is not included on every track, therefore the product is a compilation.)

If more than 50% of the tracks in a release have been previously published, Spotify classifies the album under the "Compilation" section. However, this is not a problem because the "Compilation" category is displayed for the artist and the release continues to be shown in their profile.

Note: For compilations, you use "Various Artists" as soon as there are more than three different artists participating in the compilation.

Artist

Please list all artists on product level that are included in your release.

We have implemented the button "Get Artists from tracks" to make it easier for you.

Please note that if there are more than 3 main artists product artist should be filled as Various Artists.

If you don't have a barcode, just leave this space empty.

It will be automatically generated when we've received your product.
